One of my favorite brass finds was one of those Peacock style fan fireplace screens, id been keeping my eye out for months for one and my wife and i took a day trip to Tulsa, OK to go check out some estate sales and shops and lo and behold, at one of the VERY nice historic homes, sitting there by the large open limestone framed fireplaces was this soot covered screen, it was folded up, very tarnished, which is probably why it was still there. It was my lucky day! I snatched it up so fast, and with a little elbow grease and patience it's now one of my favorite pieces in our living room.
